What's the true cost to a blog before I begin?
What's the true cost of a blog before I begin?
Simple answer: Honestly, it's not much.
If you were to go with my MOST SIMPLE recommendation without a lot of comparisons, here's what you're looking at:
- Registering your website name: Under $15 max. This is an annual re-occuring cost.
- Hosting your website: Under $7 max. This is a monthly re-occuring cost.
Now, as you become bigger, you'll be able to pull more LEVERS that will drive traffic, sales and leads.
If you can't spend $100, there is another alternative, but it's not the best route, so I'm not going to mention it. If you can't spend $100, you're going to run into roadblocks as you grow. Note: The $100 does NOT go to me, it goes to the website registrar and hosting company.
Think about it for a second. In what line of business is the entry point just $100?? At the end of this journey, you're going to have an online digital platform for an annual fee of $100!!!
Here's another way to look at it. For $100, what you are getting is:
- A real world MBA on running your own business
- Building on your skills and talents - you are going to learn photography, social media strategies, marketing, negotiations, sales
- New friends and people to network with
Action Item:
- Figure out where you can NOT spend $100 so you can invest it annually into this digital platform that you are going to make that money back OVER and OVER again.
