What the freak is an iteration?

Disclaimer here: I'm going to come at you from a entrepreneur AS WELL AS an IT project manager. You guys know IT project managers GET. IT. DONE.

Some of you are ITCHING to get started. Some of you are too SCARED to get started because you need everything perfect. I'm going to walk you through this journey similar to how large corporations get started on big IT projects: iteratively.

WHAT IS AN ITERATION

All of the sections in this course are called "Iterations". Each iteration is time boxed, but incrementally delivers value to you and your audience from the START instead of trying to deliver it all at once when its ready.

Basically, what I'm getting at is this: Each iteration in this course should be done based on how much TIME you have to invest per week:

  • 1-10 hours: Each iteration should be two weeks.
  • 10+ hours: Each iteration should be done in one week.

Understand me now. At the end of each iteration, I need you to DELIVER.

WHAT IS A SPIKE

In big business where they focus on development, a spike is created when there needs to be time to research/explore something rather than delivering a result. Sometimes, in order to get over the hurdle of delivering something complex, you need time to understand something. So in this course, a SPIKE is to give you time to get you up to speed on a topic in order for you to understand the content coming next.
